Karla Lončar, Croatian bronze taekwondo player, whom we are happy to support in the further sport’s development

13.4.2023

Seventeen-year-old Karla Lončar from Otočac is a young and talented taekwondo player at Taekwondo club “GACKA”. During the year 2022, she won 13 medals. Among them is the bronze medal she won at the National Senior Championship of Croatia in the senior women category (-62 kg), as well as the bronze medal won at the National Junior Championship of Croatia in the junior women category (-63 kg).
At the end of 2022, for the first time in her sports career, this young athlete participated in a competition that is scored at the world level. It was the Open Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina (E2/G2 category) in Sarajevo, where she competed in the junior category (-63 kg) and won 1st place and a gold medal. With this success, she is on the list among the first 50 competitors (-63 kg) in the world ranking and is currently in the enviable 29th place in the junior category.

Karla is a regular at competitions, and last weekend, April 1 and 2, 2023, she participated in the Austria Open G1 2023 competition in Innsbruck, Austria. 236 clubs and national teams, with 1010 competitors from all over the world, took part in the competition. This time, the draw was not in Karla’s favor, and after a hard fight, she lost to her opponent from Kazakhstan, who is the 7th holder of the world taekwondo list.

A lot of persistence, work, and sacrifice, but also a lot of invested financial resources is behind this success.

We are happy to be able to support young and talented athletes, and we wish Karla a lot of success and medals in the future.
