Eccos is implementing a safety and security system on the project of modernization and electrification of the Zabok – Zaprešić railway

06.7.2021

The project “Modernization and electrification of the railway Zaprešić – Čakovec (R201) on the section Zaprešić (exclusively) – Zabok (inclusive)” refers to the section of the railway length of 23.85 km of regional character which plays an important role in passenger transport in the Zagreb agglomeration.

Eccos implemented a video surveillance system, an access control system and an intrusion detection system for the project, which are monitored via Eccos’ central surveillance application Epsimax. The Surveillance Operations Center is located in the station building in Zabok and the application monitors safety and security systems, allows a live preview of camera footage and viewing of camera records, and notifies in the event of an alarm in the fire alarm system.

The video surveillance system, covers the facilities of four station buildings platforms, pedestrian underpasses, train access lines and thirty-three small houses at railway crossings with approximately 120 cameras. Network IP technology was chosen due to the possibility of using high-resolution cameras, which allows subsequent magnification of the details of the recorded video, due to the distance of the location of the server cameras and, in addition, IP cameras have the ability to record day and night. The access control system at stations includes the restriction for person who are not allowed to enter the rooms with equipment and persons allowed to enter can open the door with a contactless card.

This project is a continuation of the successful cooperation with the long-term client HŽ Infrastruktura.
