Successful adjustment of parking systems due to currency conversions in euro

20.3.2023

This year, the intoduction euro as an official payment currency brought certain challenges within the operations of various companies. Among them are city authorities, companies for parking organization and control, and other parking operators who had to provide their users with the simplest transition of parking payment services in euro currency.
Eccos maintains and installs numerous parking systems for closed and open parking lots throughout Croatia. They successfully implemented the adaptation of all parking services for euro payment.

With timely communication and simultaneous work up to fast solutions

In order to start the conversion process on time, cooperation with equipment manufacturers and parking systems users, as well as software and hardware adaptation, required team organization. Eccos’ expert team started with preparations for the parking system euro transition a year before the official introduction of currency in Croatia. The first step in this challenge was communication with equipment manufacturers for parking fees, Skidata and Flowbird, about changes in software for a new payment method which needed to be implemented in a timely manner. Then we needed to communicate with every parking systems user in particular, where the biggest challenge was the definition and tarriff and price list importations for each parking service.
With this approach, at the end of summer 2022, all parking systems had dually price display on invoices – in kunas and euros. Up to January 15, 2023, all users had ready billing systems in euros with adjusted fiscalization.

Thanks to the simultaneous work of our  teams in cities all over Croatia, euro transition was successfully completed within two weeks for more than forty users of parking systems, with minimal interruptions in everyday work of a certain parking lot. With good organization and cooperation with partners Skidata and Flowbird, Eccos enabled the new currency billing system to more than seventy closed parking lots (Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split, Rijeka, Rovinj, …) and on more than three hundred street parking machines throughout Croatia (Zagreb, Trogir, Crikvenica, Umag, Korčula, …). They showed their responsible approach in designing, building, and in the maintenance of technologically advanced park systems both according to the adaptation of the solution to the user’s requirements and according to the adaptation market requirements.
