We have once again joined forces with Bina-Istra – volunteering and donation for the Mali zmaj association

15.3.2024

Another beautiful story of a humanitarian action with Bina-Istra called « Life Has No Price » is behind us. Continuing our engagement in socially responsible initiatives, together with employees of Bina-Istra, we gathered to volunteer and help the Mali zmaj association. Association is dedicated to assisting and improving the quality of life for children living in families with lower socioeconomic status, safe houses, and institutions in order to bring about gradual positive changes in society.

The donation to the Mali zmaj association was a delivery vehicle worth 18,000 euros, the official handover of which took place on March 13, 2024. The donation was commented on by the president of the association, Ms. Martina Leopold: « The Mali zmaj association takes care of children from families with lower economic status. Currently, we take care of almost 500 children from all over Croatia and 4 safe houses. We are funded solely through donations and applications for grants. Therefore, the donation of a delivery vehicle from Bina-Istra will be of great significance to our beneficiary families because we now have the opportunity to distribute even larger amounts of material humanitarian aid outside Zagreb. So far, we have not had the opportunity to deliver larger donations such as furniture, appliances, etc. » Bina-Istra also provided an additional donation of 4,800 euros to cover the costs of insurance, service, tolls, fuel, etc., ensuring that the association has no additional costs related to the vehicle.

On this occasion, Eccos also signed a contract committing to cover the costs of 31,500 euros for a driver for the donated vehicle and a speech therapist needed for the children. « Thanks to the support of Eccos, children from our beneficiary families will have access to free speech therapy assistance and a driver who will deliver donations using the donated delivery vehicle and transport children to workshops, playrooms, and other activities we organize, » emphasizes the president of the association, adding that their cooperation with companies has proven to be very effective, and they invite other companies that recognize the importance of supporting children facing the challenges of poverty to contact them to get involved.

In addition to volunteers, Ms. Leopold and Ms. Radotić from the Mali zmaj association, key representatives of the companies attended the event, including Dario Silić, General Manager of Bina-Istra, Christian Santaleza, General Manager of Bina-Istra Management and Maintenance, and Krešimir Paić, General Manager and Co-owner of Eccos.

This initiative not only provides practical support to the association and its beneficiaries but also sets an example of how the business sector can have a positive impact on the community and contribute to creating a better society for everyone.
