14.7.2020

The main goal of Smart Cities conference organized by Lider, Croatian weekly business journal was to promote the sustainability of cities and bringing together representatives of cities, entrepreneurs, academia, and the public sector to exchange ideas and experiences. Some of the topics covered through presentations and panel discussions were reducing emissions, energy efficiency, waste management, and smart mobility and digitization of cities, where Eccos’s Sales Manager Ivan Bilać contributed to the discussion and explained in more detail on how Eccos platform for digitization of cities works. Eccos Smart City Enablement Platform (ESCEP) is a comprehensive solution for smart cities that raises the level of public safety, makes optimal use of existing resources, provides access to personalized information to all service users, and provides solutions for a safe and sustainable environment.

The Innovation to Sustainable Cities panel presented projects aimed at improving the quality of life of their citizens. Croatia recognized the benefits of smart solutions which were presented by representatives of cities; Mirka Jozić, head of the City Office for Economy, Energy and Environmental Protection of the City of Zagreb, Rijeka Mayor Vojko Obersnel, Karlovac Mayor Damir Mandić, Pula Mayor Boris Miletić, and mayor of the city of Zaprešić Željko Turk. All of the mentioned cities have implemented some smart solutions. In addition to smart solutions in Croatia, we had the opportunity to hear about smart cities in the Netherlands and Spain and about smart solutions in Vienna, which city representatives joined the conference via video link.

We are glad that we supported the conference, which is closely related to our business area, and that we were able to explain our solutions, exchange experiences and ideas and motivate ourselves for further development and improvement of our own solutions for the digitalization of cities.
