The Zadar Cruise Port of Gaženica was declared the Port of the Year at the Seatrade Europe 2019

30.10.2019

The Gaženica Passenger Port of Zadar was named the Port of the Year at the prestigious Seatrade Europe Cruise Convention held in Hamburg. Since 2017, when it was commissioned, the port has registered an increase in passengers from 20,000 to over 200,000, so it is not surprising that Gaženica received the Seatrade Cruise Award.

The main contractor for the port was the construction company Strabag, while Eccos was responsible for the installation of all electrical systems, energy distribution, weak current, safety and security system, parking management, fire detection, smart signalization, alarm sound system and announcements of arrivals and departures, as well as a system of notification of passengers and advertising through digital multimedia displays (digital signage).

“This is worldwide recognition of the project of the new Port of Gaženica. I would like to thank all those who, throughout the years, have incorporated ideas, efforts, and passion into it, and especially to those who had a vision of developing Zadar County as an attractive and desirable tourist destination. This is an additional impetus to continue to develop all potentials of the port with excellent infrastructure, with the ultimate goal of restoring the historical significance of the key point of traffic on the eastern side of the Adriatic, and also to make Gaženica an example of the successful intertwining of tourism, transport and environmental protection. In short, a port with a vision,” emphasized Zadar County Mayor Božidar Longin.

We can recognize ourselves in Mr. Longin’s statement and we are extremely proud to have been part of this great project whose quality and importance have been recognized and rewarded.
